Born and educated in Lancaster, Julia Doyle read Social and Political Sciences alongside a Choral Scholarship at Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge. After finishing her degree, she worked in the US as a research consultant in infant linguistic and musical development and in arts management in London before pursuing a singing career. Julia Doyle’s upcoming engagements include Bach’s St. Matthew Passion at Alice Tully Hall and Wedding Cantata, BWV 202 at the Brighton Early Music Festival, a program of Handel arias in Istanbul, Liszt’s “Dante” Symphony at the BBC Proms, works of Purcell in Finland, Handel’s Messiah in Barcelona, Madrid, and Lucerne, and Bach’s Christmas Oratorio in Dublin.

Highlights of recent seasons include Handel’s Occasional Oratorio at the Halle Händelfestspiele and La Resurrezione in Marseilles, Mozart’s Exsultate, jubilate and Haydn’s “Lord Nelson” Mass at the Cité de la Musique Paris, Haydn’s Scena di Berenice at the Bridgewater Hall and Creation at St Paul’s Cathedral, European tours of Bach’s St. John Passion and various cantatas with English Baroque Soloists and Sir John Gardiner, and Bach’s St Matthew Passion at the Concertgebouw with The King’s Consort.
